I work from home 3-5 days a week and I spend many hours on phone calls. I replaced a previous Uniden 2.4 GHz with this 5.8 GHz model and I'm very happy for a few reasons:- like the 2.4 GHz model I get clear connections, the advantage is that it creates no interference at all with my wireless laptop and other devices, plus I can still talk and hear well if I'm near a running microwave- 2 lines support is great - since my VoIP device can provide both lines on a single RJ11 cable, I didn't need a second phone cable to wire to the base, very handy- very easy to use and switch between lines- very long battery life, really long, trust me- very easy to pair additional handsetsThings that could be better:- range with the 5.8 GHz isn't as good as with the 2.4 GHz: this is somewhat to be expected as higher frequencies while provide crisper sound quality don't travel as far through walls, however this is quite bad as I get poor reception in the backyard or in the room upstairs opposite to the location of the base- phone book synchronization is a handy feature but if I update entries on one handset and sync to the others I end up with some duplicates- power adapters aren't green: they are the old technology which means they waste a bit of electricity (a couple of watts) - not a big concern but considering the technology is there why not provide it.All things considered I'm very happy with this purchase and I would buy it again if it would die. I actually did buy another one: for my girlfriend's house.
I purchased this system (with 7 handsets) about 2 years ago. I will never take such a gamble with Uniden again. But the most serious problem is that now the base unit gives me an E2 message and doesn't work.
Handsets would not work in every area of the house. They offered that the only recourse was to send the unit back for warranty work. I have a home business and a 2 line system that I could place handsets in office and house areas was a great hope.
Uniden Support responded after my second email to say that E2 represented an "internal issue with the unit". I tried placing the base unit in different areas but our Master BR unit usually would not ring when a call came. That can be important.
Of course, they noted that the warranty is only good for 1 year from purchase. So, anybody out there want a good deal on 7 Uniden handsets.
If you need 2 lines stable cordless phone - this is it. Great Sound, Easy to use and long life battery.Plus - Great speakerphone in very good price. run and order one (or two) I also bought extra handset (TCX905)
I replaced a broken base with this. Saved me buying a new phone system. Works great.
The phone was advertised a new, but the box had been opened when I received it and showed evidence of having been used. It was DOA and would not work. Seller was slow in refunding my money.Probably a great phone, but I wouldn't buy it from the internet where I just couldn't return it to the store.
